Senior / Lead Full Stack Engineer
Take a leading role in building a new visual product from the ground up. Make the technical choices, stay close to the code and help shape a small engineering team in Pristina.
About the role
You will lead the development of a new, visually driven software product for the Dutch market. The Dutch team has already researched the domain, validated the product direction and explored the main technical challenges. Your job is to turn that foundation into a scalable production platform. You will make the important technical choices, explain why, and build the core parts yourself. The stack is TypeScript end-to-end, but many architectural decisions are still open. As the team grows, you will guide other engineers and help create an engineering culture based on ownership, openness and continuous improvement. This is a visual product, so you notice when something feels off. You do not need to be a designer, but you care about layout, consistency and how software behaves from a user's perspective.
About the company
This is a permanent role for a new product venture inside a well-established Dutch advertising and software agency. The agency has a strong track record, a mature client base and deep market knowledge; the product itself is a greenfield initiative that brings structured data, creative workflows and automated content generation together for professional users.
This product is the starting point of a longer relationship. The agency intends to grow a dedicated engineering team in Kosovo and sees this first hire as the technical foundation for that team. The culture is ambitious, practical and product-led: engineers are expected to understand the problem behind a feature, contribute ideas and take responsibility for the result. You will work directly with the Product Owner and product specialists in the Netherlands.

- Build a greenfield web platform from its technical foundations through to production
- Define the architecture, technology choices and engineering standards
- Work across the TypeScript stack, owning both backend and frontend decisions
- Design reliable models and workflows for complex, visually structured content
- Build scalable background processes and integrations
- Build a secure foundation for multiple customers, roles and permissions
- Translate product goals into pragmatic solutions a small team can maintain
- Review work, share knowledge and guide other engineers as the team grows
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior-level work
- Strong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js on the server side
- Solid full stack experience with React or a comparable modern frontend library
- Experience designing and building maintainable production applications for real users
- Strong architectural judgement and the ability to make choices that fit product, team and company stage
- Experience leading, mentoring or guiding other developers, or a credible ambition to do so
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to document and defend technical decisions
- Professional English at C1 level or higher; this is a hard requirement, and you must currently live in Kosovo
Nice to have
- Experience building a browser-based editor, design tool or other visually rich application
- Experience with canvas technologies such as fabric.js, Konva or PixiJS
- Experience generating images, PDFs or other visual assets on the server
- Experience with asynchronous processing, queues, workers and fault recovery
- Experience building multi-tenant applications with roles and permissions
- Experience integrating AI services into production workflows
Working model
Hybrid: 1–2 days per week in the tre plus office in Pristina, the rest remote. 40 hours per week, based in Kosovo. You work closely with the Product Owner, developers and wider product team in the Netherlands.
