Outsource development

Outsource development when local hiring stalls.

This page is for established companies with their own product, their own technical team and a developer role that has stayed open longer than planned. With tre plus you do not hand over your development: you add a dedicated developer to your own team, and we handle the employment, the workplace and the local support around that person.

No obligation. You speak directly with Rens.

The role stays open, the work does not wait.

Recognise part of this? Then you are in the situation most companies are in when they reach out to us.

  • The role has been open longer than planned.
  • Recruiters keep reaching the same limited market.
  • Suitable profiles pick a larger employer or a larger city.
  • Your current developers absorb the missing work.
  • Roadmap items and technical maintenance keep slipping.
  • You become dependent on one or two people.

Not every point applies to every company. Two or three are usually reason enough to look at nearshore seriously.

What outsourcing development means at tre plus

Outsourcing can mean three things. You hand a complete project to an external agency: you get a delivery, but the work happens outside your team. You hire a freelancer temporarily: fine for an isolated task, less logical for a structural role. Or you add a dedicated developer to your own team. That last model is how tre plus works.

The developer works inside your existing team. They join your stand-ups and meetings, use your tools and processes, work in your codebase and are directed day to day by your team. We employ the developer, arrange the workplace in our Pristina office and stay involved locally.

What you keep. What we handle.

The difference is not in the wording, it is in who does what.

You keep

  • Product direction
  • Technical decisions
  • The backlog and the priorities
  • Code review and your quality standard
  • The daily collaboration
  • The final decision on who joins your team

tre plus handles

  • Recruitment
  • Technical assessment
  • Checks on English and team fit
  • Local employment
  • Payroll and employment administration
  • The workplace in our Pristina office
  • Local support and ongoing contact

When this model fits

A good fit

  • There is an internal technical team or a technical owner.
  • The need is structural, not a short isolated task.
  • One or more roles are hard to fill locally.
  • You want the developer to adopt your way of working.
  • Continuity and retained product knowledge matter to you.

Probably not a fit

  • You want to hand over a one-off project with a fixed result.
  • There is nobody internally who can guide technical work.
  • The only selection criterion is the lowest hourly rate.
  • You only need a few isolated hours.

We would rather be honest up front than start something that does not fit.

Why this model works in practice

Dutch-led

You get Dutch-led communication and coordination. One way of working, no extra layers.

The same working day

Kosovo is in CET (UTC+1). Stand-ups at 9 and feedback on the same day.

Our own Pristina office

Our developers work from our own office, not from home.

Employed by tre plus

We recruit, select and employ every developer ourselves.

Colleagues around them

A real workplace, with colleagues and support in the office.

Direct contact

You talk to Rens and the team around him, not to several account layers.

Support after the start

We stay involved with the developer once the collaboration is running.

Knowledge stays in your team

The same people keep working with you, so product knowledge stays in your own team.

How this works at DutchDrops

DutchDrops is a Dutch e-commerce agency. The collaboration started in March 2025.

Start

Through tre plus

2 developers

Setup time

a few weeks

We were looking for developers, but we found a partner. The team in Kosovo feels like part of DutchDrops and Rens stays actively involved, long after the start. That personal contact and his experience make the difference for us.

What companies ask us up front

Do we lose control of our software development?

No. You keep the backlog, the priorities, the code review and the technical decisions. We handle the employment, the workplace and the support around the developer.

Will the developer really work in our existing team?

Yes. The developer joins your stand-ups and meetings, uses your tools and processes and works in your codebase.

How do you assess technical and communication skills?

Every developer goes through a technical assessment, a check on English proficiency and a conversation about the fit with the team.

Who employs the developer?

tre plus does. We recruit, select and employ every developer ourselves, with a workplace in our Pristina office.

How does communication work in practice?

Inside your team it runs in English, with us in Dutch or English. Kosovo is in the same time zone, so discussion and feedback happen the same day.

What happens if someone leaves or the match does not work?

We arrange a replacement with comparable experience. We discuss that together, so the work in your team continues.

Is this suitable when we need only one developer?

Yes. Many collaborations start with one open role. Expanding later is possible in consultation.
